HDMI 1.4 Standard Broadcast 3D Video

This newly announced HDMI 1.4 establishes protocols for several 3D display technologies including frame, line, or field alternative methods; side by side display, and 2D plus depth methods. The new specification also features data as an essential feature, with a dedicated pipe for 100Mbps Ethernet connections. An Audio Return Channel is designed to send compressed sound through intermediary devices, while a proposed micro HDMI connector will support 1080p video for small devices.

AT&T’s iPhone Exclusivity

This would be great news for US iPhone owners, and give them the ability to have an Apple iPhone on a different network other than AT&T. It would also be good news for AT&T as it might take some of the pressure off their network which has come under critiscm for poor service for iPhone users, just like O2 did in the UK. Hot Hardware are reporting that as well as announcing the Apple Tablet tomorrow, Apple will also announce an end to the iPhone exclusivity with AT&T, although there are no details as yet what other networks the iPhone may be available on.
